About Sultana

Hi There! My name is Sultana Muzikir and I am a Handmade Visional Designer and Maker. What that means is I bring beauty and joy into people’s lives through the Arts, One Handmade Piece at a Time. Ever since I can remember, I’ve always loved making things with my hands. In my spare time, I was either drawing, painting or working on a craft project. In my late teens, a friend taught me how to crochet and from that moment on I was hooked! (No pun intended) I couldn’t imagine a day going by without crocheting something. Crochet had become my passion. Eventually, I started making pieces for friends, family and co-workers. I saw how happy it made them feel to receive a special piece made just for them. When I saw how much joy my handmade pieces gave to others, I decided that I had to share my gift with the world. Long story short, that’s how Sultana’s Crochet was created.

I’m a left-hand crochet fiber enthusiast and a yarn hoarder who loves brilliant colors. I design and make one of a kind crochet accessories you love, so you can focus on looking great. Allergic to wool?… no worries, because as a fellow wool allergy sufferer, I go to great length to ensure that I only use non-wool materials. I create using natural fibers like cotton, recycled t-shirt yarn, recycled silk, acrylic yarn etc. I also enjoy using unconventional materials in my work like leather, wire, and ribbon to name a few.

Next, I started thinking, why don’t I take my skill of crochet and share it with my fellow lefties. That’s when I added teaching 1:1 Online Crochet Lessons to my offerings.  As a leftie, I understand the challenge of learning how to crochet. The majority of instructions out there are for righties. I can help relieve the frustration of learning to crochet. Another plus to learning how to crochet is that it can give other people the freedom to make whatever they like and it’s wool-free.  To top everything, it provides an almost therapeutically way for people to relax and express their creativity.

At Sultana’s Crochet, I am committed to provide well made, fashion forward pieces and excellent customer service. I’m constantly challenging myself to make new and unusual pieces that appeal to people who want to stand out in the crowd. Looking for that statement piece, sweater coat, vest, poncho, scarf, or jewelry? Do you want to learn a new skill ? Look no further! Sultana’s Crochet is here for you.

My Story

How I Got Started

My name is Sultana Muzikir and I am an entrepreneur. I’ve always been interested in the Arts such as drawing, painting, and block printing. In addition, I enjoy sewing, baking, jewelry making and crocheting. Out of all of my interests, crocheting has become my favorite medium for expressing my creativity. Through the encouragement of family and friends, I opened my shop Sultana’s Crochet.

I enjoy experimenting with unconventional materials in my work such as beads, wire, and leather, to name a few, to crochet fashion-forward as well as classic pieces. Also, since I’m allergic to wool, I insist on using the best quality wool-free, easy to care for materials to crochet unique handmade items that can be enjoyed for generations to come. So, all of you wool allergy sufferers can feel at ease when buying any item from my shop. What I Do

Crochet Wear, Accessories, & Jewelry

I design and make one of a kind crochet wear, accessories and jewelry you love, so you can focus on looking great.

Allergic to wool?…no worries, because I only use non-wool materials. I create using natural fibers like cotton, recycled t-shirt yarn, recycled silk and bamboo yarn. I also use high quality acrylic, polyester and nylon yarns in my pieces. You can see some of the items I make under the Shop page.

In addition, since I am a left handed crocheter, I understand the pain of learning how to crochet. That’s why I will be teaching lefties how to crochet with one on one online instruction. Click on the button below for more information.
