Hey Creatives! Did you know that March is National Craft Month? It was created in 1994 by the Craft and Hobby Association to help everyone discover the joy of crafting. It’s a good time to find a new craft or re-discover a craft or hobby that you love but haven’t done in a while. There are so many different types of crafts or hobbies that can be pursued like crocheting, knitting, sewing, painting, quilting, baking, scrapbooking, jewelry making, and the list goes on and on. You can get started crafting by buying supplies at Michaels. Here is my affiliate link to get you started, click here.

In addition, it’s a great time to introduce a new craft to your child(ren). It’s a fun way to help them discover their creativity and spend some quality time with the family. It can be a learning tool as well. Crafting like drawing, painting, or working with clay can help them with dexterity, learn about colors, shapes and more. Even if you don’t want to participate yourself, you can support your local artists and craft markets by purchasing handmade items like crochet and knit wear, quilts, pottery, handmade cards, jewelry, and baked goods.

To top things off, there are many health benefits to crafting. According to a “British study of 3,500 knitters, published in The British Journal of Occupational Therapy, 81% of respondents with depression reported feeling happy after knitting. More than half reported feeling “very happy.” Even though the study was specifically for knitters and crocheters, I believe that the benefits can be transferred to any type of crafting.

Here is the list of *7 Health Benefits of Crafting
